Optus has partnered with a social media management startup named Metigy to sell its automated marketing platform to its small business customers.
Metigy's platform advises businesses when and how to use social media marketing.
Optus said that its 435,000 SMB customers will be offered preferential pricing and extra functionality on Metigy's platform.
“Technology offers SMBs insights and saves them time, providing an advantage against competitors," Optus SMB vice president Matthew Ball said. "However, we know many SMBs struggle to implement solutions for a variety of reasons, including cost, fear of change and simply being overwhelmed by what is on offer.
“Metigy provides the SMBs with a cost-effective, simple way to use data to create connections with customers and potentials customers.”
Metigy chief executive David Fairfull said Optus has shown a commitment to supporting SMBs by forging the partnership.
“Aside from the commercial opportunity this partnership represents, Metigy is very pleased to be working with such an innovative partner. Many large organisations talk about being innovative and working with startups to foster innovation, but Optus follows through.”
Metigy was named as a finalist in Optus SMB's innovation challenge last year, which tasked tech firms to come up with a solutions to help SMBs grow their digital capabilities.
