Online reseller Newegg opens Aussie eBay store, slashes membership fee

North American online reseller Newegg is marking two years in the Australian market with a membership discount and a local eBay store.

The company overnight announced a discount to the Newegg Premier benefit program - membership now costs AU$59, down from $79. Membership benefits include free domestic shipping, no re-stocking fees, and 20 per cent off select items.

On top of that, Newegg's also opening up a new Australian eBay store, with all components shipping from within Australia.

“The strategy to expand Newegg’s international presence hinges on successfully reaching customers in key markets such as Australia,” said Danny Lee, Newegg CEO, in today's release.

"In two short years our Australian operation has grown significantly, and we are committed to continuing growth in the months and years ahead."
