Online recruitment increased sharply in August to its highest ever level after a seasonal dip in July, according to new figures.
Statistics released by online recruiting firm Monster revealed the highest figures in the Monster Employment Index UK. February was the previous highest month.
The Index increased five points to 128 last month, driven by greater online job availability for workers across a majority of industry sectors including marketing, PR and media, engineering and sales.
The only sectors showing a decrease were management and consulting, construction and extraction, and healthcare, social work and personal care. The index has grown 26 points, or 25 per cent, compared with a year ago.
The Midlands, North of England and London all registered increased online demand for workers last month, with the Midlands demonstrating the strongest rate of growth. Online recruiting activity in East Anglia dropped slightly.
