The ridiculously priced laptop follows up on the Pioneer DreamBook Light IL1, which we raved about earlier this year for its low $499 price and similarity to the Eee PC.
The new version has an 8inch screen, a 400MHz fanless processor, and 4GB flash storage - making it seem very much like a response to the Eee PC 900. The big difference is the touchscreen option, which sounds great, though we'd be interested to see how usable it is on the available OSes (Linux or Windows Compact Edition).
The unit weighs 800grams has a claimed 4hour battery life, something that also raises our eyebrows - given the Eee lasts about 2.5hours.
Ok, now notebook prices are getting crazy
