The federal government's Office of Parliamentary Counsel (OPC) has released a request for quote (RFQ) to procure a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) provider.
The OPC is responsible for drafting and publishing the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, as well as providing other services, including training in understanding the legislative process and in drafting legislative and other instruments.
The SOC provider must deliver end-to-end security services for OPC, encompassing continuous monitoring, proactive threat detection, and full incident response including containment, remediation, and recovery, to actively resolve security issues and restore normal operations.
OPC currently engages an incumbent SOC vendor and continuity of service are essential components of this procurement.
OPC has their own instance of Microsoft Sentinel and the new SOC provider would be required to use, monitor, action, improve and work with the OPC's instance of Microsoft sentinel.
The estimated start date of the contract is 1 June 2026, with an initial contract duration of 12 months and two possible extension terms of 12 months each.
The RFQ closes on 27 March 2026 at 11:59pm, Canberra time.
Last year, the OPC released a tender for cloud hosting services to host the Federal Register of Legislation website and associated services.
