NTT inks BigAir wireless supply deal

NTT Australia has inked a wholesale deal for the supply of fixed wireless services from BigAir that could see the latter expand its network.

The company, which is the international and long-distance arm of Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), said it had "already placed its first order for one of its global customers in Sydney under the new agreement."

BigAir's fixed wireless product would be deployed as part of IP services supplied by NTT Australia to its customers.

"The high profile blue chip customers [NTT] service means that we may be expanding our network specifically to service large customer opportunities," BigAir chief Jason Ashton said.

BigAir's wireless network offers business-grade symmetric broadband services at speeds up to 1000 Mbps, according to the company.
