NSW Telco Authority tenders for LEO satellite and connectivity services

The NSW Telco Authority is looking to establish a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite and connectivity standing offer for use by whole of NSW Government.

The core objectives include providing an approved contracting framework for customers to procure standardised LEO satellite hardware, software and services with baseline pricing, as well as to provide the ability to select tailored technology solutions by purchasing individual hardware, services and complete bundled solutions.

Use cases include the purchase of deliverables to support emergency communications in disasters; connectivity for vehicles and field teams; remote area connectivity; real-time incident management; and critical infrastructure resilience.

It can also serve customers who want to purchase additional hardware to supplement existing fleets, as well as customers who already own existing LEO satellite hardware and want to purchase LEO Service Plans.

The close date of the tender is 18 November 2025 at 3:00 PM, with the estimated decision date scheduled for 31 March 2026.

Last year, the NSW Telco Authority tendered for IT partners to help create a price guide for emerging satellite connectivity products and services to be used across the state.
