Nokia is planning to launch a next-generation mobile games platform by mid-2007.
"The core of Nokia's games strategy is to make it easy for people to find, buy and play great quality mobile games," said Jaakko Kaidesoja, director of games at Nokia.
Games company Electronic Arts is to provide titles custom designed for Nokia S60 devices for the launch of Nokia's next-generation system.
"Nokia shares our vision of making it easy for people around the world to find and play the best quality games on their mobile phones," said Mitch Lasky, senior vice president at EA.
"We are looking forward to working more closely with Nokia on promoting a delivery system that propels mobile gaming forward."
Nokia has also signed a deal with EA to provide games through its existing mobile stores in the Nokia Content Discoverer.
Nokia will start selling downloads of seven EA titles at Christmas, including Tetris, Tetris Mania, The Sims 2, Doom, FIFA 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 and FIFA Street 2.
