ASX 100 company NEXTDC has appointed two experienced executives to head up its federal, state and local government business, along with that involving the defence sector.

They are Matt Holden, who has been in the role of Head of Government since this year, having joined from Leading Edge Data Centres, and Scott MacLeod.

NEXTDC said Holden brings over 30 years of experience delivering data centre solutions to Australian enterprise and government customers.

Prior to NEXTDC and LEDC, Holden held senior positions at CBRE, Chef Software, Canberra Data Centres and a long stint at Hewlett-Packard.

MacLeod meanwhile comes with 40 years of experience across intelligence, cybersecurity, government and ICT and has been in the Head of Government Strategy role since October this year.

He joins from Amazon Web Services, where he worked as the head of national security olution architecture for Australia and New Zealand, stationed in Canberra.

MacLeod has also held senior roles with the Australian Federal Police and the Royal Australian Navy.

The two are tasked with actively progressing NEXTDC's approach to supporting the Australian government and Defence's ongoing and emerging digital infrastructure requirements.
