Network services provider Service Stream wins $45 million extension

Melbourne-based network services provider Service Stream has extended a contract with NBN Co, expecting to bring in $45 million in revenue for at least another 18 months.

The contract is for network MACs — the design and implementation of small network moves, adds and changes — and restoration activities, which was extended up to 31 December 2019 with an option to extend another six months up to 30 June 2020.

“We are very pleased that by extending the [contract], NBN Co has demonstrated further confidence in Service Stream’s ability to support its operation of the National Broadband Network and the enhancement of its customers’ experience,” Service Stream managing director Leigh Mackender said.

“We look forward to continuing as one of NBN Co’s most trusted delivery partners.”

The company estimates that the contract will bring in $45 million in revenue, supplementing earnings arising from the customer activation and service assurance activities undertaken for NBN Co under the Operations and Maintenance Master Agreement.

The contract dates back to 2012, initially executed as a network augmentation and restoration activities contract.
