Under the agreement, NetStar is supplying Investa - one of Australia's
largest commercial property owners - with NetManage, NetStar's real-time network monitoring and management service.
Oliver Descouedres, marketing director, NetStar Australia, told CRN Investa weren’t that “happy with its previous resellers”.
“After a period of time it decided to put out a tender to find new resellers. Although Investa were aware of Netstar before the tender process, it still wanted to look at a number of local medium-sized infrastructure service providers,” said Descouedres. “The deal was signed within a three month period, after a tender process.”
According to Descouedres, NetStar will also manage all of Investa's servers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, switches, routers, wireless access points across Australia.
Investa’s networking products are supplied by Cisco, which fit well with NetStar, a Cisco-certified channel partner, he said.
While Descrouedes was not in a position to disclose the worth of the two-year contract, he told CRN, it was a ‘fairly significant’ amount.
