NBN Co has advertised four job vacancies for general managers who will oversee the company's procurement of IT, professional services, network technology and construction.
The new managers will report to Chief Procurement Officer Alasdair Fuller, who joined NBN Co last month with 9 years' experience as SingTel Optus' procurement director.
All four positions require tertiary qualifications and a minimum of eight years' procurement experience within the telecommunications, engineering, construction or professional services sectors.
They will be required to lead procurement teams, and work with either CIO Claire Rawlins, CTO Gary McLaren, or Kevin Brown, who is Chief HR Officer and Head of Corporate Services.
NBN Co came under fire this week, when it became known that the 46 staff employed in October last year were paid an average of nearly $400,000 annually.
The company currently has 112 staff, and yesterday announced that it would recruit "hundreds" more for its network operations centre, integration laboratory and data centre in the coming months.
According to CEO Mike Quigley, the company has received nearly 1000 resumes and is focused on quickly hiring individuals who have track records of experience and delivery.
Last year, the company sourced 40 percent of its employees via individual referrals, 32 percent through agencies, seven percent via direct advertising and 21 percent by offering contractors full-time jobs.
