Security vendor McAfee is allowing its resellers to sell implementation services direct to end users under a new global strategy.
In the past, McAfee had an internal services group to help authorised partners implement McAfee products.
Michael Sentonas, McAfee's director of SE and professional services Asia Pacific, said McAfee plans to eliminate this process under its Global Services Strategy.
“Under the new program, McAfee will train and certify partners with technical resources to equip them to become an extension of our organisation. Partners will be able to sell and deliver mainstream services to their customers.
“This will allow McAfee’s internal services group to focus on emerging technologies, customer deployments and helping partners to build security services practices.”
The company would also offer an implementation methodology and packaged offering to help resellers sell to their customers.
A customer satisfaction process to ensure customers are receiving quality service through services-enabled partners is also being rolled out.
Sentonas said the plan aimed to drive more revenue for its partners. "In the past we only had a select group of partners with the ability to deploy our products, we now want to broaden that group with new partners we know we can train. We will also start recruiting partners as part of a global strategy.”
McAfee’s new strategy and partner recruitment drive would launch in April.
