Telco customers of reseller powerhouse Anittel reported widespread network outages today.
Chat rooms on communications site Whirlpool carried complaints and queries from business customers left without network connections. They also reported that Anittel support numbers were ringing out with the company’s website down also.
Several users reported as late as 3pm today their services had been down since early this morning.
Shortly after, a number of users confirmed services had been restored, while Anittel’s website was back in action later this afternoon.
Anittel has made considerable investments in its own network infrastructure but also buys capacity wholesale from other providers. The source of the outage is not yet known.
Anittel did not return calls by the time of publication.
