Logica chief's role expands to Asia Pacific

Logica has restructured its local management team appointing Australian chief executive Colin Holgate to oversee the integrator's Asia Pacific activities.

He will be supported by Fermin Fautsch, who was recently appointed to the role of CEO, South East Asia.

Holgate, who has been Australian chief since 2004, will continue this role which is based in Sydney.

But he is now also responsible for managing Logica's business across India, Philippines and a regional ‘Centre of Excellence' in Malaysia.

He told CRN that he'd focus on "investigating multi-national presence in Asia and will look to leverage the Australian expertise into Asia, particularly in energy and utilities.

"The Australian team already works closely to support our business across Asia, especially in the energy and utilities market where we see huge IT growth in the development of smart grids and the management of renewable energy sources," Holgate said.

Holgate said Australia's prospects remained strong with an "experienced management team in place to drive growth initiatives".

"The experience of the "Australian team is critical as the Asian market looks to implement similar technologies," he said.

Andy Green, global CEO for Logica said: "The appointment of Colin Holgate as CEO Asia Pacific is a recognition of the importance of the region."

Logica provides technology services to 11 of Australia's 13 energy network companies, seven of its eight gas companies, and three of the five rail and tram companies in Sydney and Melbourne.
