Twelve e-business Australian projects will receive $1.965 million in funding in teh latest round of the Federal Governemnt's Information Technology Online (ITOL) program.
The program seeks to encourage businesses, particularly SMBs to adopt e-commerce solutions.
The twelve projects funded in ITOL Round 14 were: Clinical Desktop Wizard Personal Digital Assistant (PDA); Breast Cancer Management and Monitoring System; Demand Responsive Transport Demonstration; e-Production Theatre Software; Precision Pasture Network and Tooling Australian On-Line;
Prescription Management in Aged Care Residential Facilities; Packaging Impact Quick Evaluation Tool (PIQET); A Web Based Knowledge Based Tool; Applied Ideas Online; and Better Care through Intelligent Referrals System, rounded out the list.
Since 1996 the government has allocated around $15.4 million to 131 ITOL projects across a range of industry sectors and geographic regions, ICT Minister Helen Coonan, said in a statement.
“The benefits these sorts of business-to-business projects generate go well beyond the life of the funding,” she said.
“They will make information exchange and business transactions more efficient and lead to increased productivity across a range of sectors.
The 12 successful projects in Round 14 of ITOL will assist a variety of industries to support a cross-section of professional and community activities, Coonan said.
