Otto Ruettinger, business manager, Desktops and Monitors, Lenovo A/NZ said SMC provides the security, manageability and low TCO (total cost of ownership) that businesses are looking for from alternative client computing models - without the common headaches and hurdles of other thin client server based solutions.
"While the TCO benefit increases the larger an organisation is, SMC is particularly well suited for Small Medium Businesses as the initial investment is lower than other server based thin client alternatives," he said.
"Lenovo is focused on channel engagement in the SMB space and is actively looking for select business partners to allow us to deploy the benefits of SMC to SMBs via the channel.
"Interested channel partners should contact their Lenovo account executive."
The SMC 1.2 solution consists of a ThinkCentre M58p desktop client, a Lenovo co-developed software stack and a centralised Lenovo Storage Array.
Ruettinger added that as a storage-based solution, it eliminates the hassle of transitioning existing data to a server, which can be expensive and time consuming to deploy.
The SMC solution is also backed by Lenovo service and support. Customers can choose Lenovo ThinkPlus Priority Support for 24/7 advice.
