Leighton Contractors has extended a managed print services contract it inked with HP at the start of the year for an undisclosed additional period.
The HP printer infrastructure supports 9,000 staff across Australia and New Zealand, according to Diane Fernley-Jones, the construction firm‘s CIO.
"We have decided to renew our Managed Print Services contract with HP because our existing HP printing infrastructure has reduced the cost of our printing, improved staff productivity, and reduced our environmental footprint," she said.
"This is largely due to the various software solution tools and features in the printing devices that we use across the organisation."
With the renewed HP contract, Leighton Contractors will utilise HP's Access Control solution which, among other benefits, allows the organisation to control who has access to which printers in the office.
Leighton will also use HP Web Jetadmin (WJA), which enables customers to install, configure, troubleshoot and manage all of their networked imaging and printing devices.
They will also use a Pull Printing solution, which stores print jobs and releases them only when users provide identification at the printer.
"We have better control over copying and printing by restricting printer access and usage within the organisation. The HP solutions reduce unnecessary printing and paper wastage, as uncollected jobs are never actually printed," said Fernley-Jones.
