Westcon joins Avnet and Ingram Micro as the local distribution partners for the networking vendor.
“This is obviously very exciting for us. It will be a great partnership for the two of us here in Australia,” said Leigh Howard, sales director A/NZ for Westcon.
“Juniper Networks works closely with its distributor and channel partners at a global and local level,” said Brian Allsopp, A/NZ enterprise channel director, Juniper Networks.
“We’ve long had a good relationship with Westcon at a global level and working with them in the Australian market is a natural extension of this.”
Howard echoed the sentiment and said the partnership was a logical extension of the global relationship.
“We’ve been working with them for many years. We also have a number of key integrators, multi-national global integrators that we already work with that have been asking to work with us around the Juniper relationship as well,” he said.
The distributor will also be working on driving partner recruitment in the mid-market space.
“That’s part of the strategy going forward, but we are yet to set a business plan on exactly how they would like to go to market. Certainly partner recruitment is always part of any vendors aspirations,” added Howard.
