Storage maker Iomega has launched a VAR program that tempts resellers to sell its NAS and REV backup products with quarterly sales rebates of up to five percent.
The initiative also offered channel partners special pricing for evaluation units, proposal-based marketing funds, a dedicated account manager, volume discounts for some deals and customer leads, Iomega said.
Under the rebate program, channel partners would receive a two percent unconditional rebate on sales with the remaining three percent based on achieving sales targets, the company said.
The program coincided with a launch of three removable storage products, a NAS 200d REV, a NAS 300r server and an internal REV 35GB SATA drive.
Iomega said it hoped the new hardware would help lift sales in businesses with 10 to 100 seats.
The 35GB REV drive has a Serial ATA interface. The disk delivered read-write performance of up to 25MB/sec. Other available REV models had USB, ATAPI, FireWire or SCSI connections.
The 200d Series 320GB drive with REV storage had NAS services and REV 35GB storage backup in one desktop box, Iomega said.
All 200d storage servers came with Computer Associates' eTrust anti-virus software.
The NAS 300r series storage server shipped in three rack-mount models with capacities ranging from 320GB to 500GB.
It also shipped with Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 with unlimited client access licenses, 7200RPM drives, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 database support, dual Gigabit Ethernet connection and an Ultra 160 SCSI interface.
The 200d would cost US$1399 for the base 320GB model, US$1899 with REV drive built-in and US$2099 with Microsoft Windows Print Server option.
The 480GB model was expected to retail for around US$1999 and US$2599 with Windows Print Server. The 750GB model with the print server costs US$3199.
The REV 35GB SATA drive costs US$379.99 while the NAS 300r series – available from June – started at US$1999.
