Ingram Micro beefs up IP surveillance range

Ingram Micro Australia’s push into specialist areas continues with the addition of surveillance camera vendor Hikvision.

The Chinese-headquartered manufacturer supplies CCTV cameras, DVRs and associated software, Its cameras are used in schools, casinos, as well as industrial sites.

Ingram laid out its strategy last year to push into physical security and pro AV, thinking its resellers would benefit from selling not just cameras but storage, servers, cabling and wireless.

Some of the foundation vendors included Buffalo, D-Link, Netgear, Swann Communications and Axis Communication.

The Hikvision products complement Ingram’s existing portfolio in networking, servers, storage, UPS, monitoring and software, said David Charlton, general manager for Ingram Micro’s physical security division in Australian and New Zealand.

A Hikvision spokesperson said the partnership would held the vendor in the IT and project space.
