Ingram Micro announces ANZ ISVs up for US$1M prize

Ingram Micro has named the twelve Australia/New Zealand finalists in its Comet competition, a program that sees it offer startup independent software vendors US$1m cash prizes and $4.5m in go-to-market funding.

The program runs globally, with the Australia/New Zealand regional winner offered the chance to compete in the global finals.

The 12 finalists are:

  • Zetaris, which offers offers a virtual data warehouse platform;
  • Geo, a workforce management application;
  • AgUnity, a platform for organisations that deliver services in pursuit of sustainable development goals;
  • Crossware, an email signature creation and management tool
  • QuintessenceLabs, a quantum security company;
  • Curious Thing AI, which offers conversational AI to help automate recruitment;
  • PoweredLocal, a location intelligence platform;
  • Cogniss, low-code development of learning and health solutions;
  • The Block Ledger, a distributed ledger company that aims to bring trust to book-keepers;
  • COREIot, an IoT and workforce management vendor;
  • MeldCX, an application deployment platform;
  • Robonomics AI; co-created AI solutions with curated communities.

Lee Welch, Ingram’s ANZ Director of Cloud Services, said the finalists were chosen from among 179 applicants.

“The judges have been extremely impressed with the innovation displayed by all the finalists. Their business acumen and strategic approach to growing their companies is proof that the start up scene is thriving,” Welch said.

Winners will be announced on December 5th.

The regional winner will receive US$100,000 in go-to-market funding, and three runners-up will receive $50,000 in go-to-market funding.

Ingram Micro will not take any equity in the winners’ companies, nor require repayment by the finalists.

CRN will provide a judge for the regional awards.
