The new projector VPLMX20 is 45mm thin, weighs 1.7kg and is designed for people on the move.
Speaking to CRN, Sony said the picture quality has not been compromised.
"M series is a new range, we've never had a projector so thin as a model which doesn't compromise on performance, we've maintained all the good quality, it's all about smart engineering," said Vincent Bautista, projector product manager at Sony.
"The projector enters Sony's business projector range to provide an easy to use and portable alternative for all presentations scenarios," he added.
Meanwhile, Sony also launched two high performance desktop projectors as part of its new D series range.
The VPLDX11 and the VPLDX10 adopt a new generation of optical design that utilizes the 3LCD projection system.
Les Boros, product manager, Display Technologies Sony Australia told CRN that the products are powerful performers for the SMB or classroom.
The products are designed for the desktop or the table top and are ideal for businesses that can't afford a ceiling mount.
As a special offer to all Expotech resellers Sony is offering a free presentation tool valued at $295 for every pre order.
"We've got a couple of exclusive Ingram Micro resellers that have the opportunity to purchase these free presentations, said Boros.
The products will hit Australian shores on April 1.
