The ISP is looking to sign around 500 reseller partners in the next 12 months.
A team of 15 dedicated staff will support the reseller channel, providing priority partner support. iiNet has also created a new portal to enable its partners to easily sign up customers. The portal will enable resellers to view condition payments as well as access product and marketing information.
iiNet has also designed a new sales commission scheme. Resellers will be able to choose between an upfront payment option or a 10 percent trailing commission over 24 months which includes voice calling. If opting for an upfront payment, partners will receive twice the monthly account fee. From July, commissions will also be available on all business broadband plans as well as the new VPN and SIP trunking products.
Speaking to CRN, Andy McIntyre, general manager business at iiNet, said that resellers will be critical for the company's business growth strategy.
“One of the main ways to get to market, because the products are quite complex, is through resellers,” he said.
“We really want to service the small guys better than everybody else. I personally think they they’ve been undervalued.”
iiNet will also be expanding its value added services to its business portfolio through computer support. Presently, business customers can call a helpline and receive support over the phone. If unable to be fixed over a phone call, an engineer can be sent out to site to fix the problem. Further down the track a package will be available for businesses that will support up to 8 computers with unlimited phone and site-visit engineer support for any technical issue.
