Telstra has signed ICT Distribution as its new distributor in Australia.
Under the agreement, ICT Distribution will distribute mobile data applications, hardware and connectivity products to the reseller channel, following the launch of Telstra next-generation 3G network dubbed Next G.
Ben O’Leary, managing director ICT Distribution, said that IT dealers buying from the distributor would be selling mobile-related hardware, software apps and most importantly, the connection to customers.
“IT resellers no longer have to hand the service activation to someone else. As most are already managing their business customer’s IT requirements, it makes sense for them to facilitate service activations as an add-on and earn additional margins and commissions that come with SMB and enterprise solutions,” he said.
ICT is working exclusively with Telstra, the company claimed.
ICT would distribute a range of mobile data apps for vertical markets including one called SmartTrade, a job management system for tradespeople.
Telstra partner Brightstar is handling logistics, O’Leary said.
