Huawei engineer Fredy Gonzales is set to cycle 1576km from Sydney to Hobart as part of the Tour De Cure.
The ten day cycling event aims to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and will see entrants ride from Sydney to Melbourne before catching a ferry to Tasmania and riding the final stretch to Hobart.
Huawei has confirmed a $50,000 sponsorship of this year's ride - the fourth year that Huawei have sponsored the event.
"This is Huawei's fourth year with us and it is great to have them on board again as a corporate partner of Tour De Cure," said co-founder, Geoff Coombes.
The company joins a number of the event's Gold Partners which also include Samsung, Canon and The Commonwealth Bank.
Huawei was recently named the third biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world after it announced a 34 percent growth in profits due to growths in its consumer division.
