HP has inked a deal with SAP that will see the company’s Enterprise Services division deliver SAP mobility services. However, the company is sidestepping the channel and delivering the SAP Afaria services and products direct.
As part of its drive for greater market pennetration, SAP has noted a greater emphasis on the channel, but in this instance has decided to go direct.
An HP spokesperson was unable to provide comment on why the channel is being cut out of the mobility offering.
The company said the HP managed mobility services for the SAP mobile platform is designed to help clients quickly visualise, plan build and operate secure mobile applications. The services leverage the SAP Mobile Platform, the industry-leading SAP Afaria mobile device management solution and an extensive portfolio of mobile applications.
“Forward-looking enterprises are demanding mobility solutions that empower employees on the go, create new systems of engagement, and integrate these in real time with critical business applications like those from SAP,” said Anita Paul, senior director, applications services, HP, Asia Pacific and Japan in a statement.
“HP has joined forces with SAP, leveraging our deep technology portfolio and services expertise and SAP mobile technologies to create one of the most advanced mobile application solutions available to the market,” she continued.
The HP service is also available as a fully managed service from the HP Converged Cloud.
