Google unveils Chrome OS hardware partners

Google has announced several of the hardware partners it is collaborating with on the development of its Chrome-based operating system.

The company posted a few answers on the official Chrome blog to some questions that arose in response to yesterday's announcement of the upcoming operating system.

The blog post confirms that Chrome OS will be free, and named a few of the hardware players Google is working with in developing the platform.

"The Google Chrome OS team is currently working with a number of technology companies to design and build devices that deliver an extraordinary end user experience. Among others, these companies include Acer, Adobe, Asus, Freescale, HP, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Toshiba," read the post.

Google also revealed that it is looking for full-time Chrome developers in a number of its offices around the world, including London.

The announcement of Chrome OS has created quite a buzz in the industry, but the first impressions are that Microsoft has little to fear at the moment.
