Two Australian companies have earned international recognition after being named as industry leaders by Gartner.
Melbourne IT and Bulletproof have been named in a Magic Quadrant report, which identifies the main players in different technology markets.
They were among 20 companies named in the Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed Service Providers Worldwide report.
The other companies were 2nd Watch, Accenture, Bespin Global, Capgemini, Claranet, Cloudnexa, Cloudreach, Cognizant, CSC, Datapipe, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Logicworks, Nordcloud, Rackspace, REAN Cloud, Smartronix and Wipro.
This is the first time Gartner has done a Magic Quadrant report on this specific sector. The research group also produces reports on more than 200 other sectors.
Magic Quadrant reports use uniform criteria to show “how well technology providers are executing their stated visions and how well they are performing against Gartner's market view”, according to Gartner.
Melbourne IT executive general manager Peter Wright said appearing in a Magic Quadrant report was great recognition for Melbourne IT’s cloud solutions.
“Australian businesses have always been rapid adopters of new technology and it is pleasing to see local organisations can choose a local partner in the public cloud managed services market with a proven ability to execute in the managed cloud market,” he said.
Bulletproof said it was proud to have been named in the Magic Quadrant report.
“The recognition also represents a real shift in our approach as we double down on focusing in on the specific challenges that ANZ businesses face when moving to, and progressing further on, their cloud journey,” the company said in a statement.
