Ex-Benz van travels with Toughbooks

Panasonic has re-purposed a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter into a 'Toughvan', fitted out with its latest ruggedised PC offerings to take on the road to its Toughbook dealers.

The specially-designed vehicle offers sales support to Panasonic’s hardware partners, showcasing several laptop Toughbook models as well as security surveillance solutions, display screens, vehicle docking stations, GPS tracking system and Arbitrator 360° mobile digital video recording system.

Panasonic teamed with Emergency Transport Technology for the 13-month fit-out. Cost was not disclosed.

The product demonstration van debuted in March and uses mains, generator or battery operation for power.

Panasonic will work with partners to visit customers around Australia as well as appear at industry trade shows including the AFAC fire industry exhibition and CeBIT.
