Last month Dell agreed to buy storage vendor EqualLogic for US$1.4 billion, and its chairman said the deal would be a "catalyst" for a deeper channel strategy.
Chris Casey, general manager of EqualLogic in A/NZ has confirmed to CRN that its local reseller base can now supply Dell products.
“We have a very strong channel play and Dell has making announcements around a significant channel play as part of its growth plans,” said Casey. “EqualLogic’s channel partners will be able to sign up to supply a broad range of Dell products, while Dell’s other channels will also have access to EqualLogic’s storage products.”
Casey said there is no requirement for EqualLogic’s partners to sell Dell products, but it will be an option.
“We have 10 to 15 resellers in Australia. Some are traditional storage players, while others supply VMware, Microsoft, and some are partners who wanted to expand into data centres from their networking background. The feedback to the Dell deal has been largely positive,” added Casey.
