Observability, security and search solutions vendor Elastic has appointed Sanjay Deshmukh as its new vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ).
In his new role, Deshmukh will focus on scaling the regional business, expanding Elastic's partner ecosystem, and strengthening customer relationships across the APJ market.
Although Desmukh is based in Singapore, his role has regional oversight across Asia Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand, an Elastic spokesperson told Techpartner.news.
"Jeremy Pell, who recently stepped into the role of area vice president for ANZ at Elastic, will report directly to Sanjay," the spokesperson said.
Deshmukh brings extensive experience in enterprise software organisations throughout the APJ region, with a track record of delivering significant growth.
Prior to joining Elastic, Deshmukh held senior positions at Snowflake, VMware, Citrix and SAP.
Elastic is seeking to position itself to capitalise on the rapidly growing generative AI market in Asia.
Regional businesses are increasingly looking to leverage data for AI applications and consolidate search, security and observability needs.
"Asia Pacific is poised to be the fastest growing market for generative AI due to rapid digitalisation, the availability of AI talent, data and a vibrant start-up ecosystem," Deshmukh said.
He emphasised the critical importance of data in Asia's rapid AI adoption, noting that connecting the right data at the right time enables new AI products that address real business challenges.
"I look forward to empowering developers, IT teams, and organisations across APJ to transform data into answers, actions, and outcomes with Search AI," Deshmukh said.
