Edimax was founded in 1986 and manufacturers of network communications products.
Greg Jan, Australian managing director at Edimax, told CRN the company will offer a range of products including wired and wireless routers; IP cameras; network switches; and print servers, through local resellers.
Currently, its products are distributed through Bluechip Infotech and it has 500 local resellers on board.
“We want to grow that number to 2,000 nationwide,” said Jan. “Resellers can expect margins of around 30 percent and up with Edimax products.”
According to Jan, the vendor’s products will be competing against Netgear, Linksys and D-Link.
“We offer advanced replacement to end users directly when there is an event of product fault,” he said.
The company has a presence in around 70 countries throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. Australia is the company’s first venture into the Oceania region.
