The asset renewals system developed by Distribution Central executive chairman Scott Frew has once again been lauded overseas as one of CRN US's Emerging Vendors.
It is the second year in a row that the accolade has gone to Australian-born tool iasset.com, which "helps companies cost-effectively manage their partner relationships and product life cycles".
CRN US's annual Emerging Vendors list identifies up-and-coming technology vendors that have introduced innovative new products, creating opportunities for channel partners in North America to create high-margin, cutting-edge solutions for their customers.
In 2008, iasset.com launched in the US, and has been doubling in revenue every year, said Frew.
The system is now managing over US$7.5 billion of installed product worldwide, across more than 19,000 service providers.
Frew said: “Over the past year, we have continued to see growing demand for iasset.com globally, as manufacturers, distributors, and resellers look for ways to manage their renewals processes more effectively and engage their customers more proactively.”
Frew told CRN Australia that the opportunity is massive – well beyond the ICT channel.
He said: "iasset.com is effectively a global supply chain system. When I am talking to you, I am talking just about IT, but one of the big four accountancy firm are talking about it in pharmaceutical supply chains.
"Or biotech – who owns that pacemaker and who supplied it? At the moment, iasset is in IT because I know the sector and I have the relationships. But at the end of the day, we want to be the octopus that sits in the middle of all these iasset instances between resellers, vendors, distributors and the end users."
One of the local users is Sydney-based security specialist Loop Technology, which uses iasset.com to manage thousands of RSA tokens they sell.
"Everything they sell that has an annuity components is managed by iasset. They used to have four people managing this, now they have one," said Frew.
