Dimension Data's Sydney data centre suffered an outage last week that affected services for more than 48 hours, as first reported by The Register.
According to the status page for Dimension Data's Cloud AU1 facility in Sydney, the problems began at 10am on the morning of 2 July, when it was reported that "AU1 is currently experiencing intermittent connection issues".
On 4 July, the company reported that "during the recovery process we had another incident with the Storage Processor .The vendor is working to bring them back online. All recovery processes are halted and client servers are offline."
Service was fully restored at 2.39am on 5 July, more than 48 hours after the problems first started.
DiData blamed the problems on its EMC storage infrastructure, a fact confirmed by the storage vendor in a statement to The Register.
According to a statement sent to CRN, "Dimension Data has announced that the partial outage which occurred in its Sydney Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) has been restored, and all servers that were impacted by the storage array failure are now recovered. All client services are fully operational."
Dimension Data said a full post-incident review is already underway.
Dimension Data's global cloud footprint spans 12 data centres, including AU1 in Sydney and AU2 in Melbourne.
