Dimension Data Australia group general manager for security Neil Campbell has joined Telstra.
Campbell (pictured) has taken a new position as Telstra's security practice director, according to social media.
Telstra declined to comment on the appointment. Dimension Data Australia confirmed Campbell's departure, with a spokesperson saying: "We wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
CRN contacted Campbell but had not received a response at the time of writing.
Campbell worked for Dimension Data for 14 years, joining the company as the national security practice manager in 2002. He then moved on to several roles including Europe security director and global general manager for security.
In 2012, Campbell returned to Australia as director of solutions. He was posted as group general manager for security in July 2014.
Campbell also reportedly had a stint with the Australian Federal Police in the 1990s, specialising in cybercrime.
“I worked in the fraud and general crime squad of the Australian Federal Police for a number of years,” he told Info Security last year. “In 1992 a position came up in the computer crime team, where I then spent six years. I saw it as an apprenticeship in computer security and computer crime.”
Telstra's previous security practice director Craig Joyce stepped down on 15 June, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.
