Dimension Data has picked Australia for the world debut of its enterprise mobility-as-a-service offering.
DiData chose Australia as the first country because the service was developed in Sydney; general manager end-user computing Brian Walshe cited our high take-up of mobile broadband.
"According to research carried out by the OECD among its member nations, Australia is ranked second highest in mobile broadband uptake, with a 114 per cent penetration rate, and 26.46 million subscriptions," Walshe said.
"These statistics make the Australian market ideal for adopting better mobility management solutions."
The solution, which is device-independent, provides mobility usage stats and mobile expense management and will be delivered using Dimension Data’s Managed Cloud Platform (MCP).
Dimension Data is banking on mobile devices increasingly replacing desktop infrastructure. Desks are “slowly disappearing from the corporate and government landscapes”, said Dimension Data’s group executive ITaaS Steve Nola.
