Deloitte has acquired an Asia-Pacific big data and analytics team out of US-based consulting firm CBIG Consulting to bolster its analytics and information management teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore.
The firm announced that it hired Cameron Price and Gerard Skybey, who have joined Deloitte as partners in Sydney and Singapore respectively as well as their 39-strong team, who have taken up positions in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Price and Skybey led CBIG Consulting Asia-Pacific, specialising in big data and advanced analytics, talents Deloitte saw as key to its growth in the region. The competitive move represents a strong boost to Deloitte APAC's big data and analytics capability.
The particulars of the transaction were not disclosed. How CBIG's presence in the region will be affected is not completely clear. However, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Singapore office locations are no longer listed on the Chicago-based consultancy's website. CRN has reached out to CBIG for comment.
"Joining forces with Cameron, Gerard and their team extends our market-leading capabilities in big data, and enhances our identified strategic priorities to build-out advanced analytics and intelligent automation capabilities,” Deloitte Australia chief executive Cindy Hook said.
Price, former CBIG managing director for APAC, said his team was excited about joining Deloitte.
"As well as improving career growth opportunities for our staff, joining Deloitte accelerates our ability to scale across the region. The combination of the Deloitte brand with our analytics and information management capabilities is expected to be highly synergistic in the way we service clients and attract talent," he said.
