The Australia New Zealand Leadership Forum (ANZLF) has appointed CyberCX CEO John Paitaridis as its Australian co-chair.
Established in 2004, the ANZLF is a business-led initiative to facilitate high-level engagement between Australian and New Zealand businesses and government leaders to foster mutual prosperity.
It played a pivotal role in strengthening the bilateral relationship between Australia and New Zealand with two-way trade reaching NZ$29 billion in 2022.
Paitaridis assumed the co-chair role on 7 February, replacing Pip Marlow, who was commended by ANZLF for her for "exceptional leadership."
He joins New Zealand co-chair Greg Lowe, strategic adviser and former group CEO of engineering consulting company Beca, as leaders of the ANZLF.
"As I step down from my role as the Australian co-chair, I am pleased to announce the appointment of John Paitaridis as the new Australian co-chair," Marlow said.
"John's proven track record and deep understanding of digital security not only align with our strategic goals but also underscore his ability to steer Australia-New Zealand relations toward enhanced cooperation and resilience in the modern era."
"I am confident in his capacity to lead us into a future defined by innovation and strengthened partnerships."
Paitaridis has over two decades' experience in the technology sector, having founded CyberCX in 2019. He previously served in leadership positions at Optus and Telstra.
Paitaridis has enabled digital transformation and cyber security strategies for public-sector organisations and global enterprises across a wide range of sectors, from banking and financial services to mining and agriculture.
“In the increasingly complex and uncertain global environment that we currently face, there are many opportunities to advance the bilateral relationship, including in technology and innovation where John’s deep knowledge will be very valuable to the ANZLF," Lowe said.
"I would like to thank Pip Marlow for her insightful leadership of the Forum over the last two years including her strong support for the ANZLF Emerging Leaders group, as well as her longstanding advocacy for the trans-Tasman relationship."
"Pip’s energy and enthusiasm for progress helped advance the Trans-Tasman relationship and gain greater alignment on the opportunities our two countries could pursue together.”
