Systems integrator Commulynx is taking an aggressive approach to sales and marketing with the appointment of two sales people, focused on SME and enterprise respectively.
“This close attention to direct sales and marketing isn’t something we’ve really done in the past,” Commulynx managing director Stephen Knight told CRN. “However it’s definitely paying dividends.”
Knight also said the company has brought on two new vendors in the last few months. Commulynx now represents the popular VMware and Citrix desktop and virtualisation platforms.
“We’re very much focused on desktop management and end-point management,” noted Knight. He also said the company is going hard after the local government market.
The new focus on sales and marketing, along with the addition of VMware and Citrix rounds out a strong 12 months for Commulynx.
In the third quarter of last year it acquired solutions provider Prodigi for an undisclosed sum. The purchase was designed to boost the company’s offerings in the SMB space. The merger brought across 300 SMB customers, said Knight at the time.
Commulynx has around 20 full-time staff on its books and a client base of about 200 customers. Knights said he would classify 50 of those clients as active on a month-to-month basis.
The company works with vendors such as Dell, Apple, Microsoft, Ruckus Wireless, Cisco, and Juniper as well as Websense, with which it is a gold partner.
Commulynx clocked in at number 31 in the 2012 CRN Fast50, with growth of 31.57 percent on the back of $2.2 million in total sales for FY12.
