Civica International has been awarded a $103.6 million contract with the Victorian state government Department of Justice and Regulation to roll out a new integrated Infringements Enforcement and Warrants (VIEW) management system.
Civica will be responsible for the delivery of the VIEW system and for support services including hosting, maintaining, supporting and upgrading the VIEW System.
The State requires the replacement of its legacy system previously used and maintained by Tenix Solutions IMES, according to the delivery and support agreement.
The implementation by Civica has already started and is expected to be delivered on 1 January 2018.
UK-headquartered Civica is a digital solutions, critical software applications and outsourcing services' company. Civica has six offices in Australia: Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney and Toowoomba.
Civica will build on its existing Melbourne capabilities and provide eight years of ongoing support.
The VIEW platform will support the introduction of the Fines Reform Act 2014, introduced to improve the management of unpaid fines accumulated by citizens.
The system will help the Department of Justice and Regulation to manage the collection of fines, civil judgement debts and victim compensation orders through more effective infringement enforcement processes. Civica expects there to be over 500 system users.
VIEW should also increase self-service engagement from citizens.
