Brocade has announced Benjamin Hickey will be responsible for aligning the company's networking strategy for APAC as their software networking director.
Hickey has 15 years experience in specialised technology and management consultancy and will guide Brocade's APAC objectives in its areas of network function virtualisation and software-defined networking.
The development of the new role was explained by Brocade's CTO for APAC, Matt Kolon, who said: "In Asia Pacific, exploration of SDN and NFV is evolving from simply being ‘research’ to executing small-scale deployments, particularly in the service provider space.
"We are delighted to have Benjamin join the regional leadership team. His expertise and vision will be invaluable for our customers and partners as they move toward a software networking model.”
Hickey will be based in Sydney and will report directly to Matt Kolon.
He was most recently a senior associate at consultancy firm Strategy&.
