Brisbane-based industrial IoT integrator RIoT Solutions has been awarded a “multi-million” dollar managed security services contract with the Queensland government.
The contract will see RIoT deliver a vulnerability management service for a two-year period.
The service is based on Rapid7’s InsightVM technology and a Splunk-powered security information and event management system.
RIoT will run and operate the service from its locally-hosted cloud and Brisbane operations centre.
The service is available to all 26 Queensland government departments and other agencies with the aim of improving the understanding of current exposures, informing mitigation activities and tracking progress relative to business risk objectives.
“This contract is validation of all the hard work the team has put into building our managed services portfolio,” RIoT managing director Rob Merkwitza said.
“We have put a lot of effort into raising our profile as an SME within Queensland government and are appreciative of the opportunity to really show what [a] local business can do for the public sector in such an important area such as cyber security.”
RIoT will also provide network, security consulting and cyber security services in addition to the vulnerability management service.
The service replaces a similar service installed in 2014, in preparation for the G20 summit in Brisbane that year.
