Bridge Point Communications will establish a physical presence in NSW and Victoria by the end of the year to service its growing customer base.
The information security and network integrator, based in Brisbane, has partnerships with Check Point, Cisco, Blue Coat, F5, RSA and ISS.
The company was recently named Check Point's 'endpoint security partner of the year' on the back of "a couple of big deals" and maturing endpoint security market in Australia, according to business development director Tim Smith.
"We grew 20 percent last year and we're on track to do around the same again this year," Smith told CRN.
"We're also on an expansion path. We service NSW and Victoria from Queensland [at the moment] but we're looking to build a presence in both states by the end of the year."
Smith said it wanted to service a growing market in payment card industry qualified security assessments (PCI QSA) in NSW and Victoria.
Bridge Point has also been appointed to a panel by the NSW Government for the supply of security services.
"Again that's something we want to take advantage of [with a local presence]," Smith said.
The presences would consist of people from Bridge Point's Queensland base together with some new recruits.
Smith also said Bridge Point anticipated growth in the mid-market enterprise security space. He said Check Point's advantage was that it provided a single console to manage the full range of endpoint security technologies, such as firewall and VPN.
Endpoints refer to PCs and other devices connected into the corporate network. According to Check Point, the devices often carry multiple endpoint security ‘agents' to protect against different security threats.
Each endpoint security component required a separate management server, configuration profile, security policy, update schedule and compatibility test regime, the vendor said in a white paper [PDF].
Check Point claimed to solve this by providing a single agent capable of "total security" on the device.
