The event, to be held in Macau, China on the 18, 19, 20, February expects to attract 400 partners.
According to Matt Young, vice president of APAC for Blue Coat, this is the first time it will bring everyone together since it acquired Packeteer in June last year.
“It will be the first time we bring everyone from the Packeteer side of the business and Blue Coat together to talk about networking and security to get a better understanding of our vision and what we are taking to market,” said Young.
“We are going to make a big splash with our ProxyClient and we want to send out a joint message to our partners about the Application Delivery Network (ADN) so that they understand how it works and how this solution can help them.”
The Blue Coat ProxyClient accelerates secure network applications to remote users and branch offices.
It can accelerate remote applications by up to 35 times and protect users wherever they are, even on public networks.
Wayne Neich country manager A/NZ for Blue Coat said the company revised its channel program three months ago.
He said it is offering incentives and additional benefits such as a loyalty bonus for Packeteer customers who continue to buy the Blue Coat PacketShaper as well as a new VoIP program.
With PacketShaper, IT can identify all the applications on the network and monitor response times and utilisation at the application level.
IT can also optimise application performance by using Quality of Service (QoS) controls to regulate traffic and increase WAN capacity through application-specific techniques.
Neich said it wants to encourage PacketShaper customers that Blue Coat gives them security and acceleration for their network.
“Most customers don’t how their network infrastructure is being used and what can bring their internet to a halt,” said Neich.
“People are using their company computers for things they shouldn’t be using it for so that mission critical stuff is not finding its way through in time.
"All sorts of delays are happening because of congestion but the Blue Coat PacketShaper gives you visibility.
“Blue Coat secures all the bad stuff, takes the viruses and spyware and stops it. That’s where the ProxyClient fits in,” added Neich.
