Telstra is the exclusive launch partner of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G smartphone, the telco has announced.
Under the agreement, Telstra will have a three month exclusivity period to sell the device.
The Pearl 3G measures less than two inches wide and weighs 93 grams. It supports high-speed 3G networks, Wi-Fi, GPS and will be available in Royal Purple and Piano Black.
Telstra is yet to reveal pricing and data plans but said details will be made available later in the month.
Ross Fielding, Telstra executive director of Mobility Products, said the telco is "pleased" to be the launch partner for the "slim and powerful smartphone".
Fielding said he expects the Pearl 3G to be an "attractive" way for consumers to upgrade from a traditional phone to a smartphone.
It will be available to both consumer and business customers later this month.
