BlackBerry 10 details leaked

RIM has already released some information on its upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system, calling it “a revolutionary mobile computing engine”.

But a user at the CrackBerry forum has revealed even more, posting a batch of screenshots purportedly showing off some as yet unrevealed BB10 features.

The screenshots suggest that you’ll be able to “screen share” whatever is on your BlackBerry’s display during messaging or video calls (Skype users may be familiar with this concept already): this isn’t simply grabbing a screenshot and sending it – it’s a live “broadcast” of your screen, which means videos and animations can be shared.

The source said RIM plans to scrap the 10-inch PlayBook to concentrate on developing and promoting the 7-inch version instead, that 4G PlayBooks with BBM will be coming soon and that the first handset to offer BB10 will be called the BlackBerry Colt 2.

Other leaked screens later added to the forum thread show a revamped lock screen with better missed call info, and shortcuts to the last four apps you used immediately popping onto the screen when you unlock.
