Under the terms of the agreement, Avnet will distribute the full range of Zylotech’s Smart GTM Enterprise Protection products and services to its local IT channel partners.
Nick Sikiotis, CEO of Zylotech, told CRN that the distribution deal was brokered by Nandan Keerthi, channel business development general manager and
Tim Dobbin GM of distribution at Zylotech.
“The two of them have been targeting and evaluating a number of potential distribution candidates,” said Sikiotis.
“This has been going on since September, when we announced our decision to push into the IT channel.
According to Sikiotis, a number of major IT distributors were considered.
“Avnet was the best suited for our needs and its distribution style was the one we were seeking, because it will allow resellers to value-add surveillance and security onto their current product portfolio,” he said.
“IP surveillance is a natural extension, especially for resellers already selling switches, routers and storage."
He belives everybody is looking forward the deal because currently there is a vacuum in sales, with the worldwide downturn in finances.
“The deal offers new and exciting incremental opportunities to supplement income, and it allows us instantly into the IT channel and 500 resellers.”
Sikiotis said it was currently working with Avnet and its other OEM partners IBM and NEC on revaluating its channel direction.
“We are looking at taking our initiatives into South East Asia and APAC. This could include combined offerings between us and our partners,” he claimed.
Zylotech's Smart G Enterprise Protection Suite are a range of customised and off-the-shelf open platform products and systems aimed to cater for both small and medium businesses and critical infrastructure, industry, government, and defense organisations through its proven 4G technology.
