Aussie white-label service offers "affordable" cloud
iseek CEO Jason Gomersall

The iseek Enterprise Cloud was launched Thursday as a platform from which VARs can develop desktop cloud services.

"We've provided infrastructure to enterprise customers for a long time," said iseek CEO Jason Gomersall.

"But we've now taken control of one more layer to allow our partners to free up resources for other activities."

The new product adds to iseek's existing portfolio of data centres and managed network services.

Long-time channel partner, Brisbane-based DivestIT, is one of the first on board iseek's new private cloud.

"Our point of view is that this infrastructure normally requires many millions of dollars of capital expenditure," DivestIT managing director Nigel Heyn told CRN. "But this gives us a slice of that at an affordable price."

Resellers may outsource their physical and backup risk management by using iseek's private network to access their own IT environment.

Gomersall said having the entire cloud solution managed by one vendor gives resellers "confidence that their IT infrastructure is secure".

He also said that iseek's infrastructure can also assist in resellers meeting their Australian Privacy Principles obligations. The new rules, which came into effect earlier this month, compel Australian organisations to consider IT security "as part of their decision to use, purchase, build or upgrade" their systems.

Brisbane-headquartered operates four data centres spread over Brisbane and Sydney.
