Arbor Networks appoints Tim Murphy as country manager

Netscout's security division, Arbor Networks, has appointed Tim Murphy as its country manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Murphy will be based in Melbourne and be responsible for driving sales of Arbor’s DDoS and advanced threat protection solutions.

Murphy, who held the territory manager position at Arbor Networks more than 10 years ago, has 24 years of experience in security technology sales, having worked for Symantec, RSA, Cisco and more.

"This is an exciting time to be coming back to Arbor as the company has made a real impact in Australia and New Zealand since I left in 2007, particularly its penetration into the enterprise space from its more traditional network provider market," Murphy said.

"The acquisition of Packetloop and its alliance with Cisco have also significantly expanded its relevance in the market. I’m really looking forward to helping Arbor continue its expansion, enabling network operators and enterprises across ANZ to protect their infrastructure from DDoS and the increasing threats that we are all faced with day to day."

Murphy was most recently the general manager of IT risk at Southern Cross Protection. Prior to that, Murphy was Asia Pacific director at Tufin, a security analytics sales specialist for RSA ANZ and has also held executive roles at Earthwave and Cisco.

Arbor Networks has been in Australia and New Zealand for 15 years and has customers in financial services, government entities and large network operators. In 2013, Arbor acquired Sydney-based big data security analytics start-up Packetloop, expanding its solution portfolio and footprint in Australia. Sydney hosts Arbor’s Advanced Development Centre.
